If I had to choose between a chocolate dessert and a lemon dessert, lemon would win, hands down. The citrus flavor is refreshing, and I love the combination of tart and sweet.

If you love all things lemon you will enjoy these four lemony desserts as well as a great tip on keeping lemon juice on hand.

Ever since Brenda announced her trip to Paris next month, Europe has been on my mind. I have been to Europe a half dozen times, and I wish I knew what I know now for that first trip overseas 28 years ago!

I love entertaining and having people in my home. There is nothing better than having friends and family gathered around my table. Do you feel the same?

Sometimes we need to shake it up a bit and go beyond a typical dinner party or casual supper.

My inbox is filling up with emails from retailers regarding Fashion Week. It doesn’t matter if it’s in London, Paris or New York City. I just don’t get it. I don’t understand the wacky makeup and hairstyles. I don’t understand the reasoning behind the weird shoes and clothes that designers will not sell. Why not just show off their new line of what women will actually wear?

This past year there was a trend for younger women to dye their hair gray. Yes gray! It’s a trend I don’t get. But going gray, naturally, is a different story.

Gray hair today is so different than 50 years ago! A stylish cut can make all the difference in making gray hair look fresh, instead of old. It’s not for everyone, me included. I don’t have the right coloring. But I have seen some gorgeous gray hair on women and have thought, WOW! How lucky they don’t have to sit in the salon every month coloring their hair.   Continue Reading

Growing up, I have such fond memories of my mother’s cooking. On Sundays we ate our big meal of the day around 2:00 PM which was after Church and when my Dad got home from work. After dinner sometimes we would go visit relatives or they would come to our house. That’s a tradition I miss.  Did you “visit” when you were younger? I’m talking no holiday, no special reason other than to visit.

Often our Sunday meal would be some type of roast. Nothing smelled better than that roast in the oven, stuffed with garlic slivers and wonderful seasonings.
