Whether you’re off to Saratoga for the horse races, the Hamptons for a polo match, or a cocktail party on the lawn, one must celebrate the occasion! I say, why not try something new?

Toss out your tried and true cropped pants and your go-to summer top. Yes you can wear that gorgeous barely there sundress. It’s simply a matter of making it wearable.

I chose a Johanna Ortiz double tie strapless dress. By pairing it with a white button down shirt, I’ve created a carefree sophisticated look. Or add a Petit Bateau fitted tee underneath instead. You get the idea. It’s a win-win! You get to wear a fabulous dress and feel covered and confident!

I want to share a little styling trick from the ever-so-glam Jenna Lyons. To show off your shirt cuffs in the chicest way, simply pull the cuff all the way up, then roll the sleeve from the bottom to the cuff. Voila! So turn up your collars and show off those cuffs!

I adore a man’s hat. It’s just the thing to give a feminine look a bit of an edge. I’m wearing the Panama Harvard hat from Kokin New York, a classic that never goes out of style. You’ll wear it forever.

Darlings, no one wants to wear a beautiful pair of spike heels only to have them sink into the grass while you’re sipping your Pimm’s Cup! I prefer a wedge or block heel for outdoor occasions like the ones I’m wearing by Kate Spade. Practical and fab!

Don’t let a tired old totebag ruin your ensemble! This canvas tote from Land’s End adds some snap to my look. Perfect for carrying my croquet rackets and a few bottles of Rose’!
