Hope everyone’s having a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend! I just returned from New York City where it seemed as though every third woman oohed and aahed over my Julie Vos stacked bracelets, including the woman at the hotel checkin desk who went “gaga;” the woman at the next dinner table who wouldn’t let go of my arm; a fellow shopper at Barney’s and a friend I met for lunch.
By the way, Julie Vos is having a Memorial Day Sale this weekend!
It’s easy to see why my stacked bracelets attracted so much attention. The star of the show is the 24K gold plate Elephant Hinge Cuff with two regal elephants, facing one another, their trunks over their head. Each is holding a teardrop cabochon amazonite stone in their mouth. The workmanship is precise and detailed and like all of Julie Vos’s pieces, it looks like it should be 10 times more expensive.
Julie Vos jewelry is “affordable luxury.” They are pieces that will be passed down from mothers to daughters and granddaughters. Someday, they’ll be sought after as collectible vintage jewelry.
You may have read my older post about how I met Julie Lindsay, owner and designer of Julie Vos. I’ve never been much of a jewelry person, but when I walked past Julie’s popup store in NYC a couple of years ago, I was drawn inside like a magnet. Other than my wedding ring—I’ve had resized and wear on the middle finger of my left hand—and the diamond bracelet I bought myself, my favorite pieces are Julie Vos: my gold plate, Baroque Hinge Bangle and my gold plate, coin earrings that look like they belonged to an Etruscan Queen.
Inspired by historic pieces she finds on her travels, Julie Lindsay’s jewelry has an opulent look, reminiscent of much higher priced lines carried by Neiman’s and Bergdorf’s. With an elegant, old world design, Julie Vos jewelry is sold in some of the most prestigious museums in the country. Julie designs her bracelets so they can be used in a stack along with pieces she’s designed in the past or will design in the future. The ones I wore to New York City—the same as in the top photo—include the Elephant Hinge Cuff, the Soho Bangle, the Cairo Stacking Bangle and two, Milano 6-Stone Bangles. They’re stunning!

really pretty bracelet but the funny thing is that I like the other ones you’re wearing in the top picture much more – I am a woman of simple tastes 🙂 I might pop over and have a look at her simpler styles.
