Happy New Year, dear friends. I hope you’re all well and safe. Lots of things will be happening on Brenda’s Blog this year, starting with a GIVEAWAY of $1,500 worth of makeup I purchased for myself. They’re products I’ve used only once or twice. Long enough to know the color or the texture isn’t right for me… but they might be perfect for you.

All you have to do is leave me a comment at the bottom of this post and you’ll be entered to win FIVE POUNDS of new makeup. LOL, yes, FIVE POUNDS. That’s what my scales say.

Think Chanel, Nars, Nikol Beauty, Laura Mercier, Chanel and more Chanel with a little more Chanel thrown-in for good luck.

You wouldn’t know it from this five-pound GIVEAWAY, but I don’t buy makeup very often. When I find a product I like, I stick with it forever, but because my skin has changed in the last few years, it was time to update most of the products I’ve been using. When I do buy makeup, I want quality, highly-pigmented brands I don’t have to reapply again in an hour.

Some of my purchases often start after a makeup tutorial I watched right before I fall asleep. Sound familiar? If you’re like me, it’s a dangerous time to buy anything. Last month I bought a round brush/blow dryer. In theory it sounded great, but in reality, it was the size of a fire hydrant and weighed half as much. I sent it back the next day.

So, drum roll, please…

In the GIVEAWAY there are two different shades of No1 de Chanel Foundation which is great for skin that’s “a certain age.” It’s $78 a bottle, is buildable and has a moisturizing formula that contains Chanel’s Red Camellia extract and ingredients to refresh and hydrate the skin, plus it smells wonderful. It took me a while before I zeroed in on the right shade—overhead store lights are misleading, and the Chanel Boutique doesn’t give away samples—but it’s the foundation I’m currently using.

In addition, there are two, $88, Chanel powder eyeshadow palettes, a $45 Chanel under eye corrector, a $52 Chanel lipstick, $40 Chanel lip gloss, and a $36 Chanel cream eyeshadow. There’s a new $40 Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips/Cheeks, a Nars cream eyeshadow, a little container of Burt’s Bees Cuticle Cream—I buy them by the bushel and tuck one in all of my purses plus one on my bedside table—a NYX professional eyeshadow palette, and four stackable Trinny London cream eyeshadows/blush. They’re all beautiful. They’re just not my colors.

Other items I’m including are a never opened Dr. Dennis Gross Lift+Repair Eye Mask and a never opened $20 Nécessaire Le Gel Déodorant. There’s a box of $25 Frownies Facial Patches—I use Retinol so I don’t want to use both at the same time—and there are a bazillion concealers in the GIVEAWAY, including the $130 Sisley of Paris concealer. It’s really great.

You may remember I tried every concealer known to man, high-end to drugstore, looking for the right one for my skin, and I posted a couple of blogs about the “Winners & Sinners.” Sisley was one of the ones at the top of my list, but ultimately I went with Chanel’s Sublimage Le Correcteur Yeux. It’s $150 a jar… GULP… but I only use a tiny dab and after a year and a half, I’ve used only a fourth of the jar so cost per wear is cheap. It was billed as “the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow,” and at least for me, I have to agree.

There’s also a bottle of Derma E Ultra Lift DMAE Concentrated Serum—Derma E is great stuff, I’ve been using it for 20 years—and a Bare Minerals lipstick. I LOVE Bare Minerals. This one is just too light for me. I’m also including Charlotte Tilbury’s bronzer in her gorgeous compact. This is the most used of all of the items. I wanted to like the bronzer, although it never looked like I put anything on my face, but the compact and it’s big mirror are to die for! Who cares if you don’t like the bronzer?

Then there are some of Nikol Johnson-Sanchez’s products. “Let’s get this beauty started.”

I love this woman more than I can say and several of her products are my “holy grails.” The four Nikol Beauty products in my GIVEAWAY, however, are the wrong color on me or, I wouldn’t be giving them away. Have you read the Ageless Style interview I did with Nikol? Incase you don’t know her, she’s a former model who’s building a cosmetic’s empire around her million plus YouTube channel and her fun and fabulous Instagram account

If you want to enter to win $1,500 worth of makeup—more if you add taxes—leave me a comment on the bottom of my blog. I want lots of entries here and will be calling for them on Facebook and Instagram as well, so don’t expect me to pick a winner in a day or two.

Good luck! I hope you’re the winner of these fabulous makeup brands!

  1. I’m getting older and don’t seem to buy as much makeup as I did – and the cost of it doesn’t help. But between my daughter and daughter in law, we would sure enjoy seeing what’s all in your pile and trying it out!

    • What a fun giveaway! Like I give my daughter stuff that doesn’t work out for me but better cuz there’s so MUCH! And it’s all Fancy Pants make-up, so hopefully you don’t have to be too fancy to wear it.

  2. I would love to win this collection of amazing products because since I retired to Mexico, it’s impossible to find quality makeup here for my Caucasian skintone. Everything here caters to the lovely Latin Ladies but that means nothing works for me! And the wonderful Brands you have in the collection are amazing! Please pick me!

The giveaway is very generous and with a challenging middle-age skin, I could use a new change in products.

  6. Brenda, what a novel idea and so generous! It is really hard to find the right products and seems to be harder every year! I recognize and have some of the cases on the photo of your products. I did come across Nikol on a utube and she is mesmerizing! I do have a couple of her products and they are great!
I hope you have a lot of entries as this is a fantastic gift for someone!

  12. Should I win this I think I’ll do what I do on Thanksgiving when I have a lot of guests….Have my not-so-country store where I put my high end garments that no longer work for me (or never did) and offer them to my guests. I get a bit of a clean out and they go home with something that’s a perfect fit in color and style. Great idea, Brenda!

  19. What fun. Always fun to try new stuff but never know what to do with the stuff I don’t like… such a waste. This is a fun idea and at least gives someone (me!) a chance to try products for feel, etc, even if they aren’t the right colors.

For safety, tossed all makeup products and will be starting from square one in purchasing liners, shadows, mascaras and lipsticks. So, the timing of this giveaway is perfect! Thank you so much for your generosity and the opportunity to enter this drawing.
