Since I don’t know how many of you who read my blog live in the greater San Antonio or Dallas/Ft. Worth areas, I thought I’d send you a special invitation to several of my book readings and In Conversation events in both cities.

Please come to one of them. I’d love to meet you.

A live interview this week on KABB-TV, in San Antonio.

This coming Monday, May 19th, will be my formal book launch/In Conversation event at La Paloma Blanca Restaurant, 5800 Broadway, San Antonio, 78209, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. For those of you who are not familiar with “In Conversation” events, NYT and USA Today best-selling author, Laura Munson, is coming from Whitefish, Montana, to interview me about MAYA BLUE A Memoir of Survival. Then we’ll open it up to Q&A from the audience, and I’ll be doing a book signing of copies for sale. There will also be a Mexican food buffet and a cash bar, so please come help me celebrate!

Then this Wednesday, May 21, I’ll be doing a book reading, Q&A, and a book signing at The Twig Bookstore in San Antonio, located in The Pearl from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM. For those who aren’t familiar with The Pearl, set your GPS for Hotel Emma at the Pearl. The closest place to park is off of Avenue A, under the 281 expressway between Pearl Parkway and Mueller St. Then walk across Avenue A into the Pearl, and The Twig is next to Bakery Lorraine.

Thursday, May 22nd, I’ll be at Interabang Books, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, 5600 W. Lovers Lane, Dallas 75209, where I’ll be In Conversation with acclaimed author, Joanne Leedum-Ackerman. Then we’ll open it up to Q&A, and a book signing of copies for sale at Interabang.

Friday, May 23rd, at 7:00 PM, I’ll be at Half Priced Books Flagship Store in Dallas, 5803 E. Northwest Hwy, Dallas, 75231. Come join me for a book reading and signing. If you haven’t preordered a copy of MAYA BLUE, or you’d like to buy another one for a friend, books will be for sale at each one of these events.

The following week, Friday, May 30th, I’ll be doing a book reading, Q&A, and booksigning at the Nowhere Bookshop from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, at 5154 Broadway, San Antonio, 78209. Nowhere Bookshop is an independent bookstore owned by the beloved author, Jenny Lawson.

Hello Dallas and San Antonio! I hope to see you at one of these events!

  3. Hi Brenda,
Wow, you will be on the fast track. I will be with you in spirit from Arizona. I have no doubt you will be successful at each event.
On a side note, the picture that you selected of yourself is such a pretty one.
Happy everything to you, and LOTS of book sales.

  4. When you need a break….come to Carmel, CA and visit me and my lovely bookclub ladies!! You are welcome to stay at my home if you visit, or we have lovely accomdation in Carmel-by-the-Sea!

I’ve mentioned your offer to ZOOM into our club, but not sure how to arrange it. After things calm down, I hope to speak with someone about arranging a ZOOM.

    • Hi Linda! I may do something in Carmel, especially now that I know you and your Bookclub are there. If not, I’ll help you figure out the zoom call. No worry. Thank you! xoxox, Brenda

  5. I GOT MY BOOK on Thursday. I was so excited. It is right here beside me—just waiting. I’m in process of finishing up necessary stuff before putting everything aside before I spend the rest of the weekend reading. I’ve been following you since meeting you at conference on Surviving Cancer and coming to grip with The New Normal in Austin around 2012. Thanks for all you have shared over the last years and Congratulations on the publishing of Maya Blue.

    • Oh, Diane! You make my heart full. Thank you, and I’m grateful you’re still following me, and I hope, if you had cancer, you’re still doing well, out there surviving and thriving and enjoying life. I’m excited to hear what you think of Maya Blue. When you’re done, would you please write a review on Amazon? You don’t have to use your full name. Early reviews are crucial for a books success. Thank you!!! I’d be most grateful. Love, Brenda

  6. I was out of town when my book arrived last week. I got home on Friday night. I was finished reading it on Sunday. I have not had time to read any book (other than medical information) in years. I couldn’t put it down. I remembered you telling me parts of the story, but the whole story was incredible. You are definitely a fighter, warrior and survivor! My life has not been so adrenaline filled but I can relate to so many parts…you are truly amazing and I am telling everyone I know to get this book ordered. I am so proud of you and everything you have accomplished!! This book is a whirlwind for you but so healing at the same time. Love you bunches!!

    • Oh, Tammy!!! I’m in tears as I write this. I love and admire you so much! You’ve had one of the most adrenaline filled, accomplished, life-saving lives of anyone I know. Talk about a fighter, survivor and a warrior! That’s you, my friend. You’re my heroine with all you do for your family and those you love. I pray for your family every day, and am flattered you made time to read my book. Yes, please tell everyone/email them, and tell them to order Maya Blue. And if you’re so inclined, would you please write a review on Amazon? You don’t have to use your full name. Early Amazon reviews are crucial to a book’s success. My next blog, tomorrow, May 30th, will have a list of things you can do. I would appreciate it. Love, Brenda

      • Awee…now I’m wiping tears!! I just left my review on Amazon, I will help you any way I can. I honestly couldn’t put the book down and I was on a reading marathon…so involved with every page. But then I was sad I finished it. You did an amazing job writing your memoir and this is a book that everyone should read. The vulnerability and the bravery you demonstrated throughout your life has made you into the incredible lady that you are and I admire you tremendously! Love you and I’m so proud!!!
