Celebrate the Little Things Every Day

There’s always something to celebrate.

As I write this, it’s National Blueberry Cheesecake Day. If you don’t like cheesecake, then you can celebrate National Don’t Fry Day. There’s a reason to party every day.

Too often, we get caught up in the busyness of life, failing to notice our blessings and express gratitude. We let little annoyances get under our skin as they take over our thoughts, and we allow them to ruin a perfectly good day. We trade an attitude of joy and abundance for stress and anxiety. Somewhere along the way, we’ve lost the wonder of childhood as we strive to accomplish  rather than experience.

If you have trouble finding a reason to celebrate each day, seek no more! Here are reasons to kick up your heels, daily, for the coming week, and a list for the rest of the year. If you can’t find a party in this list, then you are a party-pooper.

May 27 National Grape Popsicle Day and National Cellophane Tape Day
May 28 National Brisket Day and National Hamburger Day
May 29 National Coq Au Vin Day and National Paperclip Day
May 30 National Water a Flower Day and National Mint Julep Day
May 31 National Speak in Sentences Day and National Save Your Hearing Day
June 1 National Nail Polish Day, National Go Barefoot Day and National Say Something Nice Day
June 2 National Rotisserie Chicken Day, National Doughnut Day and National Leave the Office Early Day
June 3 National Chocolate Macaroon Day and National Repeat Day (preferably the good things in life)
June 4 National Cheese Day and National Cognac Day

Or… Get out a calendar and create your own national holidays! I challenge you to find 365 things that make you want to jump for joy. Make a list, gather your friends, and laugh over the little things in life. You might just live longer because of it.
